Stuffed.....be back Monday, with photos....

Be sure to click on photos!
Ashford Gallery ( pottery) winthrop WA.
After 2 hot butter rums, ( and I never drink), half a hamburger, and a cheese plate, I feel like I just ate a turkey dinner.

Strange day, Breakfast was delayed, 65 people here and a new cook, chef didn't show up for 2 hours, but hey, made it good for us, drinks on the house tonight. Our fireplace was not working, so we got a new room, and a great price.

We went x-country for 4 hours, it was beautiful, snowing. I am soo tired. The lichens on the ponderosa are bright green and beautiful.

Thom, hi! Miss you, hope you are doing good, will write when I get back.
This photo is on the way back, where the sky is blue. Now, I am back in the rain...home sweet home! (Monday Night)

Not much sleep last 5 nights, but tonight after skiing, I hope I'll sleep like a baby.

Had breakfast with a geniunely nice and adventurous couple this Am, a 3 hour breakfast, we shared travel stories, etc. Hope we run into them again, they were remarkably warm, and sincere and interesting folks. Loved hiking, skiing, traveling, etc.( they had gone shark diving in Bali)

When get home, I will begin throwing again, and producing, and see where that takes me.

Thinking today of restaurant Imatsu, and Iichiro in Nagaoka, Niigata, missing Japan and my old friends there. Wondering how they are doing. Very kind to me.

Umm, what else, Winthrop tomorrow again after skiing again here a the lodge, and Mazama. Then back home. Oh! I am going to do a new blog, always taking a page from someone else, this one will be ..http://inandoutofconsciousness.blogspot.com/

Mazama Washington, Freestone Inn

Just finished dinner here in the lodge at the Freestone where we are staying tonight. Dinner was a large steak with salad, and a bottle of moscato Di Asti, a lemon tart dessert with coffee for finishing a day of shopping in Winthrop for pottery, and art, and a nice jaunt snowshoeing at dusk into nightfall, being followed by a moon shadow..

The snow is very deep here in Mazama, not so in Winthrop. The day was beautiful, blue sky, bubbling rivers, ravens, deer, people skiing and snow shoeing.

A nice room awaits with a fire, and I am remembering my friends, family, acquaintances,a and wanted to let you all know I am thinking of you, getting inspired to make some special pottery for you, Kim.

Been reading the Spiral Staircase Pamela, enjoying it so much.
Bebbie, wish you were here and hoping you will come visit soon. You need a vacation!

Looking for birthday presents for Karen, and Daisy.

Tomorrow morning will snowshoe again, and or cross country, then prepare for a long drive back to our corner of the state that is so different from this western town with boardwalks, and country music, sunshine and deep snow. It is a reprieve from the rain. Fun place to visit, and wouldn't mind owning a large ranch here.

Well, be in touch when I get back, Lynn, hi, love ya, and will write soon. Yumiko, wish you were here!

CLOUDHIDDEN

A few of my short stories are linked here

The brief story of our lives in the Pacific NW sharing homes with people there and living on a 5 acre farm in Snohomish WA, among other places. Our adventures, unlike your commonplace lives living alone or with family. Read All about it here:
Raising Daisy, part 1 and (part 2 below)
(part 2)

Empty Spaces, or “ She Left Me For Santa Fe”
A short about a lesson I am learning (too late) that I am not a large enough woman to be any man’s bandage. This is a true story about a man I met that really socked that story home.
Empty Spaces

I am Leaving you Jake, Goodbye.
A three part never ending story about my relationship with a congenial, albeit covert passive aggressive man who seems to be unable to live without a woman, but who acts like he can’t get enough freedom. Won’t commit, and is as flakey a man as there is.
Once a raging romance…read about that here.(Parts 1,2, and 3.)

The Undressing..Oh I get a lot of hits on this one, sorry, it’s more tame than you’d like (men). Women, you’d like this story! But there is another story of the undressing, it is far, too passionate to post here, however. Well, someone might twist my arm….
The Undressing

Look's Like Nature To Me, now this tame sounding one, might be a little sensual…
Looks Like Nature To Me

Kisses Into White, just a paragraph or so, sensual.
Kisses Into white

Sunday A Life Begins, a story of reflection, and somewhat spiritual, I‘d say. Beautiful, if I do say so myself.

Send a surprise package to any woman who need nurturing, and then she will send something perhaps to a woman she knows.

In this way we continue to nourish each other.

The pottery of Tashimaya, Japanese Antiques, more...

Born in China in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), tenmoku has captivated viewers for centuries with its shimmering, otherworldly quality. In Japan, a small handful of contemporary Japanese potters have heeded the call and devote their lives to keeping this ancient technique alive.

The works of one tenmoku artist, Koji Kamada, shine particularly bright among them

Mr. Takashimaya
Master potter, using tenmoku glaze. In Japan, you can see what pottery sells for by one who has made a lifetime of working with other great potters. Here in Japan, pottery work is honored.
When I was in Nagaoka, many years ago, small rice bows were selling at a gallery at a local department store, for 6,000.00 dollars. Most everythng including huge ginger jars almost as large as me, were sold. Not that size is everything. People equate size with price, but that is not always the case.
Look at diamonds.
Take a look around this extensive site of Japanese pottery and other items. Great for the soul that loves beauty.

Purpose of the Soul

My newest batch of chinese herbs

An online herb Store
Not what I am using, but interesting stuff here.
Drink once in evening , once in morning after meals, for 4 days, come back in a week to have pulse taken , look at tongue... get more herbs...it appears now that I will have to take the herbs longer than originally thought, since this problem has been going on a long time. The trauma goes very deep, and there has ben so much upheavel and so little support, the chinese MD said, that I need help to get well. Between love from friends, and my herbs, and new found family in France, I am sure I will recover soon. Pamela is making a bracelet for me. when I get it, I will blog it. A gift made with love, and healing in mind.

Cook: boil, simmer 1 hour, strain, drink, yum yum..(not really but not so bad)
