Pygmy Goats, Will it get my neighbors goat?

Pygmie goats have been accepted by Seattle and Everett WA. cities to be legal pets.
You can even loan them out!
Maybe They eat your grass so you don't have to mow it, and make milk I am not allergic to. AND judging by prices at Safeway and Albertsons, our usually reasonable grocery stores lately, ( like soy milk at about 4.00 a half gallon) I think maybe a goat might be a good idea.
They're real cute too!
I've been lookiing for pygmy goats online, they cost around 150.00 here abouts, but can be flown in from any number of states for MUCH more than that!

I may just have to get a goat, I wonder if it will 'get my neighbors goat'?

Uh Oh, Just read in Craigslistseattle
Now that goats ore legal in Seattle, I am getting all kinds of calls to my farm looking for some.
I currently have none to sell, but......
PLEASE before you consider taking on a goat or two, do some research.
They are wonderful to have around, but do require care.

At minimum:
A dry shelter-goats hate rain.

Quality hay and sometimes grain-no they don't eat trash

Goats are browsers not grazers-means they will eat branches (SOME will eat blackberries)but they won't do a very good job on your lawn.

They need their hooves trimmed every couple of months-easy to do once you learn how.

They need regular worming and vaccinations.

They do best in a least pairs a single goat is a lonely goat.

If you are looking to milk, be aware that the doe must first freshen(give birth) and will give milk as long as you milk her regularly (this means at least twice a day) -every day.

If you are looking for a backyard goat, they need not be registered, but to show in sanctioned shows, they do. 4-H goats must be dehorned.

You can get more information through the NDGA (national dairy goat association) or the NPGA (national pygmy goat association) Most reputable breeders will want you to have the information you need and will be happy to answer questions and help you get started.
