Snow in the Mountains not far from home

Some more photos of snow up in the snow country of Washington.

Umm, wish I were going again to stay awhile, if only I had a small place up there, it would be a nice wintry get away.. Icy Creek...along the road to Winthrop a river flows, and at this time it was freezing over, and had ice floats building up.
Was beautiful, but I had no places to park along side the road to photograph it.
But this is similar taken in Winthrop by the river. When I'm up there, even tho it is isolated from any places I'd like to go to, I am drawn back to the snowy landscape, reminds me of my wintry roots in PA. Icicles hang from houses, reminding me of the swords we broke off to fight with as children, altho these are small in comparison.

Horses in the snow in Winthrop , the Methow Valley. It is about a 4 hour drive from my home. The snow, of course can be accessed only a bit over an hour away, but I like coming here to Winthrop and snowshoeing in fresh snow, seeing bunny tracks and deer hoof prints early in a morning. Very cold temps now, but spring offers snow as well, and much warmer, not that I mid the snow. Just last stay was at a place in Winthrop I had stayed at before, but this last time I was given a basement room at a B&B. It was very unpleasant, I had no idea it was a basement, was told it was a 'downstairs ' room, which I had stayed in a downstairs room before, and it wasn't a basement. It wasn't very cheery being in a room in a basement, no window to see snow, and a 10" tv. (for 95.00 a night)
But the ceiling was painted like clouds...( not good enough) lol

Deer migrating to some place to bed down I suppose, for the night.
