Many Random Memories, part 2

31. Almost buying a colbalt blue toilet! (But they were fresh out)

32. Buying my Mum (Mummy) hydrangeas every Easter from the time I was 11 until she died at age 47 in 1978. Me and Mum when I was about 18.

33. Having my portrait done for $1.00 at Wallace Studios when I was 13, 14, and 15.

34. Going to the local beauty college and watching them cut hair, and doing my Mums friends hair when I was 11 for money.

35. Babysitting from age 11 to 16, (50 cents an hour) saving my money, buying my clothes. Another Sherry and I, bought matching dresses in 7th grade that looked like daffodils! Having a new little brother when I was 11. Here we are together. He died when he was 17. I miss him a lot.

36. Rodney bringing a watermelon to my house on the bus so I would say I would go steady with him, but, I didn't!

37. Going horseback riding with all my neighborhood friends in the hot summer sun of Texas when I was a teen ager, and younger. Sweaty, laughter, and lots of dust.

38. Spending my summers at the pool from age 8 until age 14 with transistor radios, eating peanut butter sandwiches for lunch and getting a coke from a drop down cup drink machine... for a nickel.

39. K i s s i n g for the first time! Bobby, and he promised to give all his funny books, ( collection) but never did. He walked me home from school in 5th grade.

40. Being embaressed when I was 11 because the boys noticed hair growing under my arms while we were playing Army, I shaved that very day for the first time, but I had never thought of it myself. I remember wearing a yellow sleeveless blouse. They snickered and pointed. I must have turned 10 shades of red.
