Found, transformed and left to find..a new home

I was at Whidbey Island the other day, and found a clay deposit there, so I made this mini tea set and left it for some child to find, and take home.

Today, April 4th, would have been my little brothers birthday

Had not someone decided to take his life when he was 17.

Max, was a beautful boy, 6'4" tall, not fully grown yet. Brown hair, brown eyes, beautiful softened features. Very kind, very very loving. Perfect.

Our Mother died when he was 12. I was 23.

He was my half brother. His father left him, then. Eventually he came to live with me, my husband and young family.

It has been many years now, but I find in trying to write this that I still have not come to terms with his death, and I cannot bear to think of him, because it breaks my heart. Literally my heart is so overcome when I think of him, I can't bear it. After all these years, it is no different.

He died in October, towards the end of October that fateful year so long ago.

Two months later, my older brother, Danny, took his own life. It was more than he could bear, along with a marriage failing and other losses.

I couldn't believe this happened to us, it was something to read about in the paper, not to happen to a family like "ours." Right?

More death followed. I stop here, I can't speak of anymore. The unspeakable.

I am already wanting to back out of this post. I do try to keep this blog lighter than what life has been. I try.

Maybe I just have to post this today. Maybe I can manage to take this step, but I can go no further.

You will have to forgive me for hiding. Some pain, never dies, and can't be told.

I celebrate you anyway Max, I always do. Your life, I hope was the last you had to live, and I hope you are free and complete
in loves arms, divine bliss. This is my birthday wish for your.

Isn't this beautiful? Anahit on flickr painted it! entitled,"musicc"

Who is this unknown artist.... whose work is so familiar, seen everywhere, as we look into the daylight sky, year after year? Like a moth to a flame, like water to a soul in the desert, it feeds me now..

Blog shopping today

I decided to go "blog shopping" today, and first I found "whirlygurl," from New York.

above) From Watermark, A poet's Notebook. (scroll down)

Just what I needed, a refresher on The east coast life!

Ahh, like a breathe of fresh lilacs that knock me over with their aromatic scent, mingled in every breathe I take... "home land" in springtime. And.... I suddenly recall Whitman's poem, "When lilacs last in the dooryard bloomed." Sigh!

I have been reading Diane Ackerman's (recommended by my ex), Cultivating Delight. All in all, I seem to be suddenly wanting to steep my self in my east coast roots; nature there, and the quickened pace of life that special spot on the map emits. It's invigorating, life giving.

Whirlygurl linked to this museum, so I am going on tour with her today..she may as well get used to me tagging along.

"Addwaita passed away on Friday. He succumbed to liver failure. And that ofcourse made headlines and that is how I learnt about it. And why should that be?
Well to begin with, Addwaita was 255 years old. At firt, it sounds incredible, even awe inspiring to note that when he was born, Mozart, Beethoven, Napoleon weren't born, America was not "Independent", England had not yet become the mighty empire it subsequently became." Interesting read....

Ashford Gallery ( pottery) winthrop WA.
After 2 hot butter rums, ( and I never drink), half a hamburger, and a cheese plate, I feel like I just ate a turkey dinner.

Strange day, Breakfast was delayed, 65 people here and a new cook, chef didn't show up for 2 hours, but hey, made it good for us, drinks on the house tonight. Our fireplace was not working, so we got a new room, and a great price.

We went x-country for 4 hours, it was beautiful, snowing. I am soo tired. The lichens on the ponderosa are bright green and beautiful.

Thom, hi! Miss you, hope you are doing good, will write when I get back.
This photo is on the way back, where the sky is blue. Now, I am back in the rain...home sweet home! (Monday Night)

Not much sleep last 5 nights, but tonight after skiing, I hope I'll sleep like a baby.

Had breakfast with a geniunely nice and adventurous couple this Am, a 3 hour breakfast, we shared travel stories, etc. Hope we run into them again, they were remarkably warm, and sincere and interesting folks. Loved hiking, skiing, traveling, etc.( they had gone shark diving in Bali)

When get home, I will begin throwing again, and producing, and see where that takes me.

Thinking today of restaurant Imatsu, and Iichiro in Nagaoka, Niigata, missing Japan and my old friends there. Wondering how they are doing. Very kind to me.

Umm, what else, Winthrop tomorrow again after skiing again here a the lodge, and Mazama. Then back home. Oh! I am going to do a new blog, always taking a page from someone else, this one will be ..http://inandoutofconsciousness.blogspot.com/

Mazama Washington, Freestone Inn

Just finished dinner here in the lodge at the Freestone where we are staying tonight. Dinner was a large steak with salad, and a bottle of moscato Di Asti, a lemon tart dessert with coffee for finishing a day of shopping in Winthrop for pottery, and art, and a nice jaunt snowshoeing at dusk into nightfall, being followed by a moon shadow..

The snow is very deep here in Mazama, not so in Winthrop. The day was beautiful, blue sky, bubbling rivers, ravens, deer, people skiing and snow shoeing.

A nice room awaits with a fire, and I am remembering my friends, family, acquaintances,a and wanted to let you all know I am thinking of you, getting inspired to make some special pottery for you, Kim.

Been reading the Spiral Staircase Pamela, enjoying it so much.
Bebbie, wish you were here and hoping you will come visit soon. You need a vacation!

Looking for birthday presents for Karen, and Daisy.

Tomorrow morning will snowshoe again, and or cross country, then prepare for a long drive back to our corner of the state that is so different from this western town with boardwalks, and country music, sunshine and deep snow. It is a reprieve from the rain. Fun place to visit, and wouldn't mind owning a large ranch here.

Well, be in touch when I get back, Lynn, hi, love ya, and will write soon. Yumiko, wish you were here!

I am Leaving you Jake, Goodbye.
A three part never ending story about my relationship with a congenial, albeit covert passive aggressive man who seems to be unable to live without a woman, but who acts like he can’t get enough freedom. Won’t commit, and is as flakey a man as there is.

The Undressing..Oh I get a lot of hits on this one, sorry, it’s more tame than you’d like (men). Women, you’d like this story! But there is another story of the undressing, it is far, too passionate to post here, however. Well, someone might twist my arm….

The pottery of Tashimaya, Japanese Antiques, more...

Born in China in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), tenmoku has captivated viewers for centuries with its shimmering, otherworldly quality. In Japan, a small handful of contemporary Japanese potters have heeded the call and devote their lives to keeping this ancient technique alive.

The works of one tenmoku artist, Koji Kamada, shine particularly bright among them

Mr. Takashimaya
Master potter, using tenmoku glaze. In Japan, you can see what pottery sells for by one who has made a lifetime of working with other great potters. Here in Japan, pottery work is honored.
When I was in Nagaoka, many years ago, small rice bows were selling at a gallery at a local department store, for 6,000.00 dollars. Most everythng including huge ginger jars almost as large as me, were sold. Not that size is everything. People equate size with price, but that is not always the case.
Look at diamonds.
Take a look around this extensive site of Japanese pottery and other items. Great for the soul that loves beauty.

Purpose of the Soul

My newest batch of chinese herbs

An online herb Store
Not what I am using, but interesting stuff here.
Drink once in evening , once in morning after meals, for 4 days, come back in a week to have pulse taken , look at tongue... get more herbs...it appears now that I will have to take the herbs longer than originally thought, since this problem has been going on a long time. The trauma goes very deep, and there has ben so much upheavel and so little support, the chinese MD said, that I need help to get well. Between love from friends, and my herbs, and new found family in France, I am sure I will recover soon. Pamela is making a bracelet for me. when I get it, I will blog it. A gift made with love, and healing in mind.

Cook: boil, simmer 1 hour, strain, drink, yum yum..(not really but not so bad)

Score! Nice gifts from dear friends...

I just came home with a box full of goodies, from Kimmie's. She found these at one of her special places she frequents, and graciously decided to give them to me. I was over Superbowl Sunday ( dare we speak of that day?) it was also a birthday celebration for several people, me included, ( I am now , hmm, 26)..and we had a great time visiting everyone...

Kim's is always the best place to go, warm, loving, beautifully decorated, homey, and lots of the best food compliments her Mom, Mother, Diane. ( I went over yesterday, and took back empty containers from left overs, and viola, I came back home with, FULL containers of leftovers, (I call them elegant aftermaths when they come from Diane's kitchen!) I helped her concoct a new recipe (I stirred, and brought some home..I am soooo talented!) It was mac n' alfredo sauce, with pesto and artichoke hearts, YumE!
Love you Diane. Thanks for a wonderful, Ful Filling, visit!

Kim's fantastic blog

So check out these freebee dishes I got gifted me, and check out Kim's fantastic blog.
Love you Kimmee.

Chinese herbs second round

After my four days of taking my herbs, I was just crushed. There was no improvement. went back to Dr. who took my pulse, and said it was the same.
They decided it was not a strong enough dosage, and that since I had been this way for so long ( unable to sleep, relax, be rested) that it might take a little longer, happiness is assured they said.
They don't want me to take western medicine, but melatonin is ok, they said, it is natural.

So they changed my herbs some, said to use 3 cups of water, boil , simmer for 1 hour, and drink 1 cup ( shoud be one cup after 1 hour) The add 2 cups water, boil, simmer 30 minutes, save the one cup for after breakfast,. Ths morning I had a glimmer of love feeling.

Ordered 3 books about passive aggressive men last night. Long overdue.

Living with a passive aggressive man

Take a look.

Interesting differences between Chinese and Western ideas concerning emotions/body and health.
Chinese Medicine

Five Emotions: anger, joy, sorrow, fear and rumination, as well as others, and explains their significance to the practitioner. "The body-mind is not a pyramid, but a circle of interaction between the Internal Organs and their emotional aspects. Whereas Western Medicine tends to consider the influence of emotions on the organs as having a secondary or excitatory role rather than being a primary causative factor of disease, Chinese Medicine sees the emotions as an integral and inseparable part of the sphere of action of the Internal Organs.... Since the body and mind form an integrated inseparable unit, the emotions can not only cause a disharmony, but they can also be caused by it"

Anger, according to tradition, affects the liver; rumination taxes the spleen; sorrow depletes the lungs; excessive joy affects the heart, and fear affects the kidneys.
