Photo...Horses IN Snohomish

I am only sorry I don't have a photo to share today of MIllie picking blueberries today. I didn't have my camera.
Previously in a blog I mentioned meeting Millie when I went to Snohomish a berryin, and how much fun it was there all the women and children laughing, and kids squealing with delight. Sounds that warm the heart.

Millie happened to be picking near me, and so we began a conversation that covered every topic worth discussing.
I was delighted.

So today I went back and picked again, Millie was going, so I just met here there.

Again we talked about so many things, and she brought a copy of a Government document concerning invading Cuba in the 60's. The project was called Operation Mongoose
AKA Northwoods
It is dated March 13,1962. It is also referrred to as Operation Mongoose. It's goal; to provoke military action against Cuba.

Who would guess we'd exchange such information about control in this country?

For me I realized how very much we all need to cultivate the flowers of awareness, it's fruit being peace, so that this type of thing will one day stop, and the sooner the better!

Seek peace, so it might be our future.

First it must be our present.

I sleep alone in a kingsize bed... 5 days on the left, 5 days on the right, then change the sheets.

Putting away dishes & flatware, clean ones always go on the Bottom of the stack.

My goal when driving is to take the shortest distance between Points A and B, and hit the brakes SELDOM as possible. Which leads to #4...

Driving is like shooting pool – you only have to miss by a LITTLE bit! (Passengers enjoy white-knuckle moments with me but hey, that's all in THEIR heads...)

Finally... when I put on shoes & socks I always wonder, "In case of shocking emergency, should I put on both socks first, or one shoe / one sock before dressing my second foot? What’s more functional for running out the door? 50 years, and I still can’t figure this out!"

Kim tagged me for this...what..I don't have any Idiosyncrasies...well let me think about that...
I am an Aquarian, but my rising sign is Pisces. Therefore I am a brooding type. I worry.
Also as Aquarian, I am flakey, drifting, and in the air, conceptualizing.
I won't pass by a penny. My Grandmother was so thrifty, saving money, pinching pennies. I would feel it bad luck to do that.
I check my e-mail every morning as soon as I get up.
I clean my studio after each use, it is just part of the ceremony of it all, the cleaning and leaving it fit to reenter the next time for the next and different process I will undertake.

Art of sensuality

I love the sensuality of taking a brush to a lovely white, smooth, freshly throw and trimmed piece of porcelain to make the first and also unalterable design on it's pale and lovely surface. I never know really exactly what I will paint there with my brush, especially if I am beginning a new series. Just as a brush flows, the design flows, and I must trust it to become a stroke that will complete the life of any vessel I approach.

More so than the empty sheet of paper standing naked, waiting for words, or canvass white and clean, this first touch is so intimate, most willing to be touched, and completed.

Of course I have my glazes, all these wonderful colors I want to use on porcelain, but if I use them, I miss this experience of touching this still moist, fresh, and beautiful canvas of clay.

I have things now thrown and trimmed; moist, waiting, waiting to see. Will these be simply glazed or will a design be added to the surface? I don't know. Just as I don't know what design will evolve, I don't know what will happen to these new vessels.

I might think at times that I am the one deciding this, but in reality, I have no such plan. I am like the brush, just a willing instrument of whatever that which wills, creates.

My life, appears is a holy experiment.

Forget me not!

Series of ware, I call Forget me nots. This is the third set , making 3 in a week, Almost complete. I did a glaze fire, it was ok, experimental. A few successes. I am waiting for drying to fire these three, and I am also hoping colors don't burn out too bad, I may have to redo the pink series of fushias. ~smile~
